Will be hosting productions of Sister Act (2-7 January 2017) and Jason and the Technicolour Dream Coat (7-11 February 2017).Are you interested in attending one or both of these shows?  If you are please let me know and I will see if I can get tickets so please let me know if you have a preference for a particular time or day.  If there is enough interest, this could be the start of a Theatre Club with an emphasis on supporting local theatre.

Working Party Report for 5th November.

Things came together on bonfire night. It was dry with a light wind, excellent conditions to burn the cuttings of the seasons work. St John’s Churchyard crew and the Ruxley crew came together to deal with the huge piles of a seasons trimmings. By nightfall they had been reduced to a pile of embers; job done, sorted, no probs. All that remained was damping down. Our thanks to Anthony, Nick and Stuart from the Churchyard crew and Sarah, Linda and Martin from the Ruxley crew. Interested in volunteering? Please contact Anthony Sharratt.

Family News

Welcome to St John’s Church. Please stay and join us for refreshments after the 10am service. If you are a visitor, please make yourself known to a member of the Ministry Team.

There is a sheet at the west end of church for names to be included in the time of prayer at the Sunday services and throughout the week.

Church Flowers

We are desperately in need of more flower arrangers.  In the last two years we have lost six arrangers either for medical reasons or because they have moved away.  In January next year we will be reduced to five arrangers only. Unless we can encourage more people to come forward we will, sadly, no longer be able to have flowers in church every week. Our present arrangers would be happy to demonstrate flower arranging to anyone interested.  Please speak to me if you would like further details.

Introducing Bell Ringing

Bell ringing is great fun!  It requires skill and concentration and a commitment of time to learn, but in return, it’s a great social activity; a way of meeting new people and can give a life time of satisfaction and achievement.

If you’re interested in finding out more about bell ringing here at St Johns, please get in touch with Janis Roddy, Tower Captain.  Janis can be contacted either via email at Janis Roddy

or phone 01689 877025

Fire exits

Please note that fire exits and extinguishers must not have furniture placed in front of them.  Kindly avoid doing so and ensure that others are reminded if necessary.
