St. John the Evangelist, which lies just off Sidcup high street, is your parish church. It has been the centre of worship in Sidcup since the mid 19th century.
The church is open every day of the week, and many people visit for times of quiet
reflection, or just to pop in to admire the grand architecture of the building or to
have a sit down and rest on the way home from the shops.
No matter for what reason everybody is welcome to enter.
Unfortunately, our building is very out of date with regard to catering and toilet
facilities and is in desperate need of an updated disabled access. We aim to
supply disabled access both inside and outside the building. toilet facilities,
including disabled, plus a small kitchen and servery. There will also be a meeting
space and children’s area. With these improved facilities we will be able to offer the use of the building to a far wider range of organisations and events.
We are already well advanced with this exciting project. Architect’ drawings and
plans are on display in the church, but of course this comes with a high price tag.
