On Tuesday 29th May St. John the Evangelist Sidcup and All Saints Footscray alongside many members of the local community came together to welcome the Reverend Cathy Knight -Scott. It was a lovely and uplifting service.
Over 250 people came and helped to celebrate the Rev'd Cathy's Licensing. She was welcomed in by the Bishop and the various members of the church and local community. We thank everyone who helped to plan, prepare and support the service.
Cathy was the Curate of All Saints, Orpington, which she has led through interregnum over 8 months. She has two adult children and two cats! Her first degree was in theoretical physics from Cambridge University and her theology degree was awarded by Durham. Before ordination she had a varied career, initially in avionics, then moving into the City where she held a senior training position in international banking and most recently she was a physics teacher at St Olave’s school.
Cathy is very much looking forward to working with the church communities in Sidcup and Foots Cray as we look to engage with the wider community in these places and to proclaim the Gospel.
Please pray for her as she takes on a new role and ministry with us here.
The Rev'd Cathy's first service with us at St. John's will be at 10 am on Sunday 3rd June.
The Rev'd Cathy's first service at our Sister church, All Saints Footscray, will be at 10am on Sunday 10th June.
